STF Seizes Illegally Stored Chromite, Hard Coke From Khordha, 2 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch Police today seized huge quantities of illegally stored chromites and hard coke from Khordha Industrial Estate under Khordha Town Police Station jurisdiction and arrested two persons in this connection.

The accused have been identified as Sambit Padhi of Forest Colony Khordha and Rajendra Prasad Behera of Tarava in Dhenkanal district.

According to an official press note, based on intelligence input regarding the storage of huge quantities of illegal chromites and hard coke the STF with the help of local police conducted raids at Khordha Industrial Estate today.

During the raid, STF seized 730.33 MT of chromites and 278.52 MT of hard coke, one earth moving machine, Rs 44,500 cash and other incriminating materials.

Padhi and Behera were apprehended during the raid.

A case was registered at Khordha Town police station under sections 379,411,413,120(B) of the IPC read with 21 MMDR Act.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
