Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the State Crime Branch carried out a raid near Ramgir Gupteswar Gate under Ramgir Wildlife Range and seized a leopard skin. One, Mana Gauda was detained during the raid for illegal possession of the leopard skin.
Gauda, a native of Goudagada under Baipariguda police limits was handed over to Forest officials. “The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of possession of such Leopard Skin, for which he has been detained,” the STF stated.
“Special drive against the wildlife criminals/poachers is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized as many as 30 Nos. of leopard skins and arrested/apprehended of 43 wildlife criminals,” the STF added.
