Boudh: A Class 10 student was killed after being hit by a train near Khamaripada village under Boudh police station in Boudh district on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The deceased was identified as Laxman Das, a resident of Khandapada village and a student of Mundapada High School.
According to preliminary information, Laxman was walking along the railway track when he was struck by the Bhubaneswar – Purunakatak Intercity SF Express. The impact left him with severe injuries to his limbs. Locals later found him lying injured on the track and alerted the authorities.
On being informed, Baghiapada police outpost ASI Brahmananda Pradhan and personnel from the Boudh PCR reached the spot and recovered the body. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident.
