Bhubaneswar: The 10th and 12th standard students of CBSE schools and their wards have expressed anguish over the marks awarded to the former in Odia in the Term-1 examinations.
Parents of a couple of aggrieved students said students pursuing Odia were awarded fewer marks due to a faulty ‘Answer Key’ for term 1. “The answer to several questions in this key was incorrect. Despite repeated appeals to the local office, no step has been taken. We request a reevaluation,” they stated.
A group of parents further said that this would demoralise students from taking up Odia Language as a subject in the future. “We have requested the CBSE to recheck and reevaluate the Odia Language paper.”
“Our children have secured excellent marks in other subjects while the marks in Odia is significantly low. In comparison, students have been awarded full marks in Hindi and other regional languages,” the parents said.
