Subarnarekha River

Bhubaneswar: Even as the water level of the Subarnarekha River continues to recede, floodwaters remain in several villages within the embankment area of Bhograi block in Balasore district.

According to reports, five panchayats — Kusuda, Gabagaon, Kharidpipal, Nachinda, and Kachuadi — are currently submerged. These areas continue to face waterlogging despite the river flowing below the official warning mark.

At Rajghat, the warning level for the Subarnarekha is 9.45 metres. As per the latest readings recorded at 6 am, the river was flowing at 8.49 metres.

The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and relief measures are expected to continue until water levels normalise in the affected areas.
