Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Energy Department has directed all four power distribution companies in the state to immediately submit pending utilisation certificates (UC) or refund unspent disaster funds released under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF).
In a letter issued by Joint Secretary to Government Laxmikanta Mishra, the department said that a considerable amount of funds released under the SDRF and SDMF are still either unutilised or pending submission of Utilisation Certificates (UCs).
The department stated that in cases where the funds remain unutilised, the unspent balance is required to be refunded to the Government.
“Although some UCs have been received, a considerable amount of Government funds released under the SDMF/SDRF is still either unutilised or pending submission of Utilisation Certificates. You are, therefore, requested to submit the pending Utilisation Certificates or refund the unutilised funds to this Department immediately for taking further necessary action at this end”, read the letter.
The directive has been sent to the CEOs of TPCODL, Bhubaneswar; TPNODL, Balasore; TPSODL, Berhampur; and TPWODL, Sambalpur.
The Energy Department has marked the matter as ‘Most Urgent’ and has also forwarded copies to the Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department and the Nodal Officer for SDRF/SDMF.
