Puri: Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a striking sand art installation at Puri sea beach to raise awareness about the upcoming Census of India 2027.
Serving as the brand ambassador for the Census campaign, Pattnaik used his signature medium to convey the importance of public participation in the nationwide exercise. The artwork prominently highlights the significance of the first phase of the Census—Houselisting Operations—which is scheduled to commence soon.
Through this creative initiative, Pattnaik aims to encourage citizens to actively cooperate with enumerators and ensure accurate data collection, which forms the backbone of policy planning and governance. The installation has drawn attention from visitors and locals alike, amplifying the message of awareness and civic responsibility.
Officials associated with the campaign have emphasized that public cooperation is crucial for the successful conduct of the Census, which plays a vital role in shaping developmental strategies and resource allocation across the country.
