Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a magnificent sand sculpture of Lord Shiva with 500 small shivlings around the statue on Puri beach on the eve of Mahashivratri.
The 5ft high sand art of Lord Shiva with message “Praying for Peace, Omm Namah Shivaya” drew attention of huge tourists on the beach.
He has used about 4 tons of sand for sculpting the art. Students of his sand art institute joined hands to complete the sculpture.
The Padmashree awardee artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 65 International sand art championships and festivals across the world. He has won several prizes and brought laurels for the country.
