Bhubaneswar: Severe heat and sultry weather is likely to prevail in Odisha between April 12 and 14, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The impact of Kalabaisakhi (nor’wester) is expected to weaken from today, while intense heat and humid conditions will begin to dominate the state starting April 12.
Daytime temperatures are likely to remain steady for the next couple of days. However, a sudden rise in temperature by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius is expected in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas are experiencing partly cloudy skies today with a possibility of rain. On the other hand, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph may occur in some parts of the state.
The IMD has urged residents, particularly outdoor workers, elderly people, and children, to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and stay hydrated during the hot and humid spell.
