Bhubaneswar: With a large number of devotees thronging to Puri for the Suna Besha and ongoing Rath Yatra celebrations, significant traffic congestion has been reported on the Bhubaneswar-Puri highway.
According to the latest traffic update issued by the Traffic Control Room (TCC) Puri at 10:30 am on Saturday, there is an extremely heavy inflow of vehicles from Bhubaneswar towards Puri, leading to severe congestion on the route.
The waiting time at Maltipatpur has now increased to around 1.5 hours and is likely to rise further as the day progresses. Authorities have urged commuters to plan their journey accordingly and stay updated with further traffic advisories.
The Traffic Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with on-duty personnel to ensure smooth traffic movement and safety of all devotees during this peak festive period.
Motorists heading to Puri have been advised to exercise patience, follow traffic diversions, and avoid unnecessary travel if possible.
