Bhubaneswar: The alliance talk between BJD and BJP is still hanging fire as the regional party remained silent on the issue after a crucial meeting of the senior leaders with party supremo and CM Naveen Patnaik at his residence on Thursday evening.
After coming out of the Naveen Niwas, the residence of the CM, BJD vice-president Debi Mishra said that the meeting was held with the party supremo regarding the poll strategy and organisation base in the grassroots.
“The meeting was held between senior leaders and observers of various districts with party president and CM Naveen Patnaik. The meeting featured the district-wise and constituency-wise election strategy, organisational programmes. The observers have given presentation of their respective district to party supremo Naveen Patnaik. They have also given their suggestions and opinion on the election affair, “Mishra told reporters while ignoring media queries about the alliance.
Former MP and Khordha district observer Rabindra Jena also echoed similar voice. “I am the district observer of Khordha. I apprised party president and CM Naveen Patnaik about the organisational base in Khordha district. This was the subject of discussion with the CM.”
All eyes were on the BJD’s crucial meeting which lasted for over two hours at Naveen Niwas on Thursday evening. The meeting was attended by around 30 senior leaders and almost all the district observers.
