Bhubaneswar: A lady junior engineer was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Bhogarai in Balasore district, on Saturday. Her body was found hanging in a locked house.
The deceased identified as 28-year-old Monalisa Hembram was working as a junior engineer at the Bhogarai block office and residing in a rented accommodation near the Thana Chhak. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside the room, leaving the landlord and locals baffled.
It is learnt that Monalisa had been working in the block for only six months and was staying alone in the rented room. Her family members, who live in Baripada, were informed about the incident, but they did not reach Bhogarai till the filing of this report.
On a tip-off, police have started an investigation into the incident, but the cause of death is yet to be ascertained. It is unclear whether Monalisa committed suicide or was murdered. The police are probing all angles and trying to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
