Bhubaneswar: A series accident was reported at Nandan Vihar Square under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar on Thursday after an SUV went out of control and rammed into several vehicles, triggering panic in the busy area.
According to preliminary reports, the SUV collided with and damaged multiple vehicles, including three motorcycles. As a result of the accident, three persons—a woman, a man, and a child—sustained injuries. The injured are reportedly members of the same family, with the father, mother, and their child among those hurt.
Eyewitnesses said the impact was severe, leaving the motorcycles badly damaged. Local residents and passersby rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.
The driver of the SUV was apprehended by members of the public at the accident site. Following the incident, tension prevailed in the area as crowds gathered.
Police personnel from Infocity police station reached the spot soon after receiving information. The police are making efforts to control the situation, pacify the public, and restore normalcy.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
