Bhubaneswar: Police recovered the half-burnt body of a tea vendor from his house at Jeypore Old Medical Square in Koraput district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Tambi Ayer. It is suspected miscreants might have killed the tea vendor by setting him afire.

According to sources, Tambi was running a tea stall at Old Medical Square. However, he was not opening his tea stall for last seven days. Locals informed police after the bad smell coming from his house located at Satabhauni temple.

On a tip-off, police reached the spot and broke open the door of Tambi’s house. To everyone’s shock, Tambi was found dead.

After recovering his half-burnt body, police sent the body for the post-mortem and started a probe to ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide.
