Teacher Suffers Severe Burns As Electric Scooter Goes Up In Flames In Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: A school teacher had a narrow escape after his electric scooter caught fire in Bhadrak district, on Tuesday.

As per reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday when Parash Sahani, a teacher at Panchayat Kathidiha Primary School, was riding his scooter back home after school hours. As he started the scooter, it suddenly burst into flames, engulfing the vehicle and causing severe burns to Sahani’s face and body. Locals present there came to his rescue and took him to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

It is learnt that the e-scooter, which was purchased in March 2022 for Rs 95,000, was completely gutted.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the area, with locals expressing concerns about the safety of electric vehicles.

Upon being informed, police launched an investigation into the incident.
