Dhenkanal: An Assistant Teacher from the Government U.P. School at Siminai in Dhenkanal district has been suspended following an incident in which she allegedly beat a Class VI student during school hours, causing physical injury.
According to an official order issued by the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Odapada, P.K. Kallo, the teacher, identified as Sandhyarani Kandi, assaulted the student on Friday (April 11, 2025) resulting in injury.
The suspension was enacted under the provisions of Clause (2) of Rule-12 of the Orissa Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1962.
“As the appointing authority, in exercise of powers conferred by the aforementioned rule, Smt. Sandhyarani Kandi is placed under suspension with immediate effect,” the order stated.
Furthermore, the order specifies that during the suspension period, Kandi’s headquarters will be at the Block Education Office, Odapada. She is prohibited from leaving the headquarters without prior approval from the undersigned or competent authority.
Additionally, Kandi is entitled to subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule 90 of the Orissa Service Code.
