Bhubaneswar: Sitting BJD MLA from Telkoi constituency, Premananda Nayak, and former BJD legislator from Dhamnagar, Rajendra Das, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Monday ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly elections.
At the same time, former Bhadrak MLA Naren Palai, who resigned from the Congress party recently, also joined the BJP on Monday.
The three leaders as well as their supporters joined the saffron brigade at the Misrana Parba (joining ceremony) at the BJP’s state headquarters in the presence of BJP state unit president Manmohan Samal.
On Sunday, three others, former minister and five-time BJD MLA Arabinda Dhali, former BJD MLA Mukunda Sodi, and retired Air Marshal Dilip Kumar Patnaik joined the BJP.
Before this, two sitting BJD MLAs Pradeep Panigrahi and Prashant Jagdev also joined the BJP.
