Bhubaneswar: Severe heat wave is expected to hit the State from March 29. According to the India Meteorological Department, the temperature is expected to rise by 2-4 degrees in the next three days.
Currently, the temperature in Odisha is 2-3 degrees lower than normal, but it is expected to increase gradually over the next three days. The weather agency has predicted that the temperature may cross 40 degrees and touch 42 degrees in some areas.
A yellow warning has been issued for Sonepur, Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, and Sambalpur districts for March 29. Similarly, a heat wave warning has been issued for the same districts on March 30.
In the last 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across Odisha, with Boudh recording the highest temperature of 38.00 degrees Celsius. Bhubaneswar recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius, while Cuttack recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius.
The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre has estimated that there is no possibility of rain in the next few days, and the weather will remain dry for the next five days. The heat wave warning has been issued to alert people to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the hot weather.
