Dhenkanal: Tension ran high at Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital following the death of a woman after delivering a baby due to alleged medical negligence.
Sunita Sahu, a woman from Ekagharia village, who passed away just hours after giving birth to a baby girl. The family members of the deceased alleged that negligence in treatment led to her death.
According to reports, Sunita was admitted to the hospital after experiencing labor pains and underwent a caesarean section, delivering a baby girl. However, she started bleeding soon after, and despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to excess post-partum bleeding.
The family has filed a complaint alleging that the doctor’s negligence caused Sunita’s death. Furthermore, they claimed that she was referred to Cuttack due to her deteriorating condition, but the ambulance arrived two hours late.
The Additional District Medical Officer has assured a probe into the allegations of negligence. This incident comes on the heels of another allegation levelled by the family just a few days ago, alleging that a child died due to a wrong injection.
