Bhubaneswar: The third phase of the training programme for Wardens of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) commenced on Saturday at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar.
The programme is being organized jointly by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi and the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA).Inaugurating the session, OSEPA Additional Director Sangeeta Behera, Joint Director Jasmin Pattnaik and Dr. Sarita M. urged the wardens to create a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for students residing in KGBVs.
OSEPA Joint Director Dr. Santosh Kumar Rout said the main objective of the workshop is to empower wardens to transform KGBVs into high-quality residential educational institutions. State Gender Coordinator, OSEPA, Lahari Mahanti delivered the welcome address.
NIEPA Project Director Dr. Santwana Mishra and Dr. Irma Kerketta joined the programme virtually. DIET faculty members, teacher educators and District Gender Coordinators also participated in the training.
More than 70 wardens from two districts of Odisha are taking part in the programme. The training aims to strengthen the leadership, management and student welfare capabilities of wardens in residential schools.
