Bhubaneswar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has apprehended three persons, including two minors from West Bengal, for allegedly pelting stones at two moving trains in the Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railways. The accused are Satyanaray Sahu (26) from Basta police station in Balasore and two minors from West Bengal.
According to RPF officials, the trio targeted the Vande Bharat Express and Dhauli Express, which operate on the Howrah-Puri route. Sahu was booked under Section 153 of the Railway Act 1989 and confessed to being a habitual offender involved in theft and mobile phone snatching from passengers. He allegedly used a stick or stone to disorient victims before stealing their belongings.
The two minor boys were caught near Hijli station in West Bengal and confessed to their involvement in stone-pelting. They have been forwarded to the juvenile board, while Sahu faces further legal action.
