Bhubaneswar: Three persons were arrested in the Hindol Range in Dhenkanal for their involvement in two separate wildlife cases related to wild boar hunting.
The accused, Purna Chandra Behera, 40, from Hilsar village, and Hadibandu Behera (43), were caught in Karnapur with an illegal country-made gun, bait bombs and other explosive materials. Ramesh Chandra Rout, 44, from Babandha was arrested with wild boar meat and similar contraband.
The arrests were made following intelligence inputs gathered by Hindol Range Officer, Goutam Pradhan. They have been forwarded to court, marking a significant step in combating wildlife poaching in the region.
