Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Bar Council has fixed May 23 as the date for conducting elections to the three remaining Bar Associations in the state whose polls were earlier postponed.
Announcing the schedule, Sitanshu Mohan Dwivedi, President of the Odisha State Bar Council, stated that elections will be held for Nabarangapur Bar Association, Jatni Lawyers Association, and Sundargarh District Bar Association on May 23, 2026.
According to reports, the State Bar Council has already communicated the decision to the Presidents and Secretaries of the concerned Bar Associations. They have been instructed to immediately call a general body meeting, appoint an Election Officer, and furnish all required information to the Odisha State Bar Council before April 27, 2026.
It may be recalled that elections for all affiliated Bar Associations across Odisha were conducted on March 28 this year. However, due to some procedural irregularities, the elections for these three Bar Associations were kept in abeyance by the State Bar Council.
