Khurdha: Police cracked down on a racket allegedly extorting money from candidates appearing for the Agniveers (SSR/MR), CG Navik(GD), and Yantriks recruitment exams, arresting three employees of India Navy.
On April 19, an FIR was registered at the Balugaan police station based on a complaint alleging that certain individuals claimed to provide undue assistance to candidates during the induction process.
The accused individuals, part of various social media groups including WhatsApp and Telegram, would contact candidates, promise help with documentation and enrolment, and extort money under the pretext of helping them pass the exam.
The arrested individuals include Bhooshan, a former Navy personnel from Uttar Pradesh, Satyam Chahar, an employee at INS Kesari in Andaman & Nicobar, and Vinay Kumar Ray, an employee at INS Chilika. Four mobile phones were seized during the investigation.
