Three Including Minor Killed Due To Bike-Tanker Collision In Rayagada

Rayagada: Three persons including a minor were killed in a road accident at Nataraj Petrol Pump under Tikiri police limits in Rayagada district.

The victims have been identified as Narendra Jhodia (25), Umakanta Jhodia (14), and Tunu Jhodia (23).

They were going to Gorakhpur  when the bike they were travelling in collided with an illegally parked tanker late at night.

Tikiri police rescued the injured and took them to Utkal Hospital in Ushapada via ambulance. One person was declared dead, while two others were referred to the Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital.

Tunu Jharia died on the way to Rayagada, while Umakanta succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital.

Following the mishap, the agitated locals have blocked the road, demanding compensation. Upon being informed, police have arrived at the scene and are trying to calm the protesters.
