Sundargarh: A gas balloon burst at Satsang Vihar temple near Dharmashala School in Sundargarh, leaving three people seriously injured.

The helium-filled balloon, which was flown in the temple, fell down due to gas depletion and caught fire when it was being lowered. Basant Kumar and Bibhuti Bhushan Mohanty, who were operating the balloon, and Pandu Charan Pradhan, a devotee from Kendrapara, were injured in the incident.

Two of the injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital, while the third is being treated at the government medical college and hospital. All are reported to be in stable condition.

The incident has raised concerns about the lack of a burn unit in Sundargarh district headquarters, with relatives expressing dissatisfaction over the inadequate facilities.
