Baripada: Three people died after the KTM bike they were riding fell off a culvert near Kuamara Post Office under Khunta Police Station in Mayurbhanj district late last night. According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sahadev Singh, Shakti Singh and Raghu Singh, all residents of Kuamara village.
The trio was riding the bike at a very high speed on the road in Kuamara village. They reportedly lost control while negotiating a turn near the Kuamara Post Office. The bike veered off the culvert and crashed into the wall.
Sahadev and Shakti died on the spot. Raghu was rushed to Kuamara Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Police said preliminary investigation suggests drunk driving may have caused the accident. Khunta Police have reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
