Three Killed In Lightning Strike In Koraput

Koraput: At least three persons were killed in lightning strikes on Friday in Pardiguda village in Odiapentha gram panchayat under Laxmipur block in Koraput district.

The deceased include a 60-year-old woman Budri Madinga and her 16-year-old grand daughter Kasa Madinga and 35-year-old Ambica Kasi. Four others have been also injured in the lightning strikes. The injured have been hospitalised in the nearest government hospital.

According to reports, Budri and her grand daughter Kasa were killed when they had taken shelter in a hut near their farmland during the thunderstorm and lightning. Similarly, lightning struck Ambica Kasi, while he had taken shelter under a tree in the village to protect him from rain.
