Angul: Three youths are reportedly stranded on the rugged Malyagiri hill in the Palalahada area of Angul district.
According to reports, a group of seven youths from the Keonjhar town area had gone for trekking on the Malyagiri hill on Wednesday. While four of them returned safely, the other three have gone missing.
The difficult hilly terrain combined with adverse weather conditions is posing challenges to the rescue operation. However, the Fire Services team is making relentless efforts to locate and rescue the stranded youths.
Speaking to the media, a Fire Services official said the trio is believed to be safe and has been traced approximately seven kilometers away. The official added that they are expected to be rescued shortly.
The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with trekking in the remote and challenging Malyagiri hills without proper preparation or guidance.
