Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow nowcast warning for Bhubaneswar and several parts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at isolated places during the next three hours.
According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, at 4:10 pm, such weather conditions are likely over isolated areas of Khordha, including Bhubaneswar, as well as Sundargarh, Rayagada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Sonepur and Nayagarh districts.
The weather office advised people to remain alert and keep a watch on changing weather conditions, particularly in view of the possibility of worsening conditions, and plan their activities accordingly for safety.
The yellow message is a precautionary advisory urging residents in the affected areas to exercise caution during thunderstorms and lightning.
