Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of districts of Khordha (Including Bhubaneswar City), Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati within next three hours, according to a nowcast warning issued by the Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here at 4.00 PM on Saturday. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for these places.
Similarly, Nayagarh, Cuttack (including Cuttack City) and Dhenkanal districts are likely to experience light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning one or two intense spells of rain during the same period. The IMD has issued ‘Orange’ alert for these districts.
The IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
