Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a nowcast warning for seven districts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds in the next three hours.
According to the nowcast issued at 3 pm, the districts likely to be affected include Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Nuapada, Ganjam, and Puri. Wind speeds are expected to reach 30–40 kmph at one or two places during this period.
The IMD has advised residents in these areas to remain alert and monitor weather conditions closely. People have also been urged to move to safer locations if necessary to protect themselves from lightning strikes and other potential hazards.
