Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning (Be Aware) for light to moderate thunderstorm activity over five districts of Odisha in the next three hours.
According to the warning issued at 12:45 pm today, light thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and surface wind speeds reaching up to 40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city) and Cuttack (including Cuttack city). These districts have been issued yellow alert.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to remain alert. Residents, especially those in outdoor activities, farmers, and travellers, have been asked to take necessary precautions against lightning and strong winds.
