Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for several districts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms and gusty wind activity over the next two days.
As per the forecast, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundargada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj till 8:30 am of September 29.
Similarly, for the period from 8:30 am of September 29 to 8:30 am of September 30, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind with speed upto 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
The IMD has advised people to remain cautious and take necessary precautions during the thunderstorm activity.
