Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms with lightning in 13 districts during the next 24 hours.
“Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj during the next 24 hours,” the IMD has said in its today’s midday bulletin.
The weather agency has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for the abovementioned districts.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Gajapati, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri and at a few places over the rest of districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, the IMD has said in its forecast.
In its forecast for Bhubaneswar and neighbourhood valid for the next 24 hours, the IMD has said that the sky will remain generally cloudy with light rain.
According to the IMD’s bulletin, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal around 16th July.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Deogarh, and Keonjhar.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nawarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri.
