Thunderstorm With Lightning Predicted In 14 Odisha Dists During Next 24 Hrs, IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh during the next 24 hours, according to the midday weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today. The IMD has issued ‘Yellow’ alert for these districts.

Besides, light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the same period, the weather agency has forecasted.

Here’s IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts of Odisha for next six days:

Day 1(Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be aware): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, and Kalahandi.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.09.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be aware):  1) Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi .

2) Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack,

Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam .

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 07.09.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be aware): 1)Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kalahandi .

2) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Bolangir, and Kandhamal.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.09.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.09.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
