Thunderstorms And Lightning Likely To Hit Six Districts Including Cuttack In Next Three Hours

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new nowcast warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over six districts of Odisha in the next three hours.

According to the alert issued at 2:30 pm today, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty surface winds of 30-40 kmph, and light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore districts in the next three hours. These districts have been issued yellow warning.

The IMD has advised residents in these districts to remain alert and closely monitor the weather. People have been urged to be prepared to move to safer locations immediately in case of intensifying lightning activity, as lightning strikes can be extremely dangerous.
