Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday evening issued a nowcast yellow warning for nine districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorms at one or two places over the next three hours.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the districts likely to be affected are Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, including Cuttack city, Khordha, including Bhubaneswar city, Kendujhar, Angul, Kendrapada and Bhadrak.
The weather office has advised residents in the affected districts to remain alert as localised rain and thunderstorm activity may temporarily impact normal life. People have been urged to keep a close watch on changing weather conditions and plan their outdoor activities accordingly.
The IMD has also appealed to the public to take necessary precautions and stay in safe locations if weather conditions deteriorate during the warning period. The nowcast is valid for the next three hours from 8 pm on Wednesday.
