Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for nine districts of Odisha, forecasting light rain, thunderstorms and lightning over the next three hours.
According to the nowcast warning issued at 11 am today, light rain with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Boudh, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundaragada, Sambalpur, Debagada and Anugola districts during the next three hours.
The weather office has advised residents to remain alert and keep a watch on weather conditions for any deterioration. People have been urged to plan outdoor activities accordingly and take precautions for their safety.
IMD has asked people to avoid open fields, not to take shelter under trees, and to stay away from electric poles and conductors during lightning.
