Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the one-day special session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held on April 30, which will focus on the participation of women in Indian democracy.
As many as 70 platoons of police force will be deployed to maintain law and order during the session. The entire Assembly complex will be brought under a three-tier security cordon to ensure foolproof security.
In addition to the regular police force, personnel from the Special Tactical Unit (STU), Dog Squad, Bomb Squad, and Fire Services Department have also been assigned for security duties.
Meanwhile, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 is likely to be imposed at Lower PMG Square to regulate the movement of people and vehicles in the vicinity.
The special discussion is aimed at deliberating on the role and representation of women in democratic processes.
