Puri: The first batch of logs for construction of chariots for the famous annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings arrived here at the Ratha Khala (chariot construction yard) today.
The lot contains a total of 63 logs, out of which 34 are of the Asan variety and 29 are from Dhaura variety.
The logs were despatched on three trucks from the Nayagarh Forest Division after holding pooja at Lord Mahavir’s shrine at Daspalla in Nayagarh district.
The pooja was held in the presence of senior officials of Nayagarh Forest Division and residents of Daspalla.
