Bhubaneswar: Three persons, including two minor girls, were saved while being swept away by a flash flood in Kalahandi, thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of a tractor driver.
The incident occurred in the Thuamal village Chandigiri stream near Adri village under Thuamul Rampur block. Muduli’s timely intervention and the help of local villagers ensured the safe rescue of the three individuals.
According to reports, a woman and two minor daughters took shelter under a bridge near the stream to avoid the heavy rainfall. However, the sudden surge of water from the upstream caught them off guard, and they were in danger of being swept away.
As they cried out for help, a tractor driver named Damu Muduli happened to pass by the area. With the help of local villagers, Muduli rushed to the spot and rescued the three, pulling them to safety just in time. His bravery and quick thinking saved the women from what could have been a disastrous outcome.
