Bhubaneswar: A team of Odisha Vigilance today intercepted a traffic inspector of Jagatsinghpur RTO while he was travelling in a car with ill-gotten cash at Tarini Chhaka near Biribati in Cuttack.
Prasanta Kumar Mohapatra was proceeding to Bhubaneswar in a Hyundai Exter Car with suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs.4.27 Lakh.
As Mohapatra could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized, vigilance said.
Following the interception, search is being carried out at two locations of Mohapatra from DA angle.
He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, vigilance officials informed.
