Baliguda: Three persons died after a scooty they were travelling in fell off a bridge near Mandakia Budamaha under Raikia police limits in Kandhamal district in the wee hours of Monday.
The accident took place when they were returning home after watching Danda Nacha. The scooter they were riding hit a pole and fell off the bridge.
The deceased have been identified Brahmananda Bhoi and Kushal Digal of Beredakia and Basant Panda of Raikia
According to sources, locals found them lying in a pool of blood under the bridge on Monday morning and informed police. On a tip-off, police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies.
Meanwhile, police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the mishap. Also, the scooty has been seized from the spot.
Police suspect that the accident might have happened in late Sunday night. The incident has sent shockwaves in the locality.
