Rayagada: In a tragic incident, a herd of buffaloes was mowed down by the Allepey-Dhanbad Bokaro Express killing over 30 of the animals on the spot near Rayagada.
As per reports, the herd was mowed down by the speeding train while it was crossing the railway track near Pitamahal on the Vijayanagaram-Rayagada down line.
Railway engineering team, Railway Protection Force personnel and gang men have rushed to the spot to clear the track of the carcasses of the animals.
