Bhubaneswar: Additional Director General (ADG) of Press Information Bureau (PIB) A K Mishra addressed Odisha Information Service officers during a training programme at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal, today.

Speaking on “Government Communication in Changing Times”, Mishra emphasized the importance of timely, accurate, and credible dissemination of government information.

He highlighted the impact of digital media and social networking platforms on government communication, stressing the need for transparency and consistency to maintain public trust. “Transparency and consistency are essential in an era of rapid information flow and misinformation,” he said.

Mishra urged officers to adopt modern communication tools and citizen-centric approaches, using regional languages and multiple platforms for wider reach. He also emphasized continuous learning, professional ethics, and inter-departmental coordination for effective communication of government policies.

19 Odisha Information Service officers of the 2025 batch are participating in the 10-day induction training programme, which began on January 28. The programme features sessions by media experts on media management and public communication.
