Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today issued notice for inclusion of the names of Tapaswini Dash and her father as parties in the matter pertaining to alleged police inaction on women trespassing into Dr Sumit Sahu’s house in Berhampur.
The High Court issued the notice while conducting a hearing on a petition filed by Dr Sahu’s father Pramod Sahu alleging inaction by Baidanathpur police against local women who had forced their entry into his house by breaking open the lock of the main gate.
The High Court while fixing February 8 as the next date for hearing in the matter directed Tapaswini and her father to submit their side of things before the court.
Over 30 people had barged into the house of Dr Sahu’s father Pramod Sahu on the 20th of last month and had hurled abuses.
Pramod Sahu had filed an FIR at the Baidanathpur police station in this regard.
However, the police had allegedly remained a mute spectator to the whole incident despite section 144 CrPC being in force in the area.
