Bhubaneswar:  A fire broke out in a moving truck carrying 30 tons of dal (lentils) near Amanakuda Square on the Adasapur-Nialai Road in Cuttack district in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to sources, the truck was on its way from Raipur to Konark when it caught fire around 4 am near Amanakuda. The driver managed to escape unhurt and immediately alerted the fire department.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the truck engulfed in flames and dal destroyed. After a few hours of effort, the fire was brought under control.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit may be the reason behind the mishap.

However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
