Baripada: A truck driver was charred to death on Thursday morning after his vehicle collided with an oil tanker on the National Highway No 49 at Bangiriposhi Ghat in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The driver of the oil tanker also sustained critical burn injuries in the accident.
Another truck driver is said to be trapped inside the mangled vehicles.
Both the vehicles overturned on the roadside after the accident blocking vehicular movement on the Bangiriposhi Ghat road.
While the truck driver died on the spot, the oil tanker was reduced to ashes in the fire after the collision between the two vehicles.
Fire Services personnel are struggling to douse the flames till the time of filing this report. The Bangiriposhi police have launched an investigation into the incident.
