Bhubaneswar: A biker and his pillion rider were killed on Monday when a truck overturned over them on the road connecting Bhawanipatna with Visakhapatnam near Dhepaguda under Biswanathpur police limits in Kalahandi district.
The deceased have been identified as Arun Dhangda Majhi and Padmalochan Patra.
According to reports, Majhi and Patra, who worked as masons were on the way to their workplace on a bike when a truck coming from behind overturned over them. The duo was killed on the spot.
The driver of the accident-causing truck has, however, fled the spot.
On being informed Biswanathpur police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
